Culture
We’ve been in America since we started on Bainbridge Island in the Pacific Northwest, and we’ve grown and grown ever since. Our culture in North America has always been based in our OPAH Focus values, and our desire to be different from day one. We wanted to stand out from the crowd at the early conferences we attended, so we made our trade show booths tiki huts where customers and partners could spend time with us and see our passion for what we do. And we decided that Orange would be the color we wore, so that we’d stand out in the sea of blue and gray.
Our Offices
In North America, we’re headquartered in Durham, North Carolina, where our incredible office backs onto the home ballpark of the world famous Durham Bulls baseball team. Our balcony seating area makes for a great place to eat your lunch and catch a game.
We also have a strong presence in Seattle, Washington, where Avalara was originally founded, and several hundred fully remote employees, across the country.
